Girl talk Institute

A personal development, leadership program.

For inspiring women like you!

What is the Girl Talk Institute?

The Girl Talk Institute is a personal development, leadership program for students, professionals, and mothers with a heart for the dignity of women. Our vision is for women to discover and inspire true confidence through a sisterhood of self-worth.

The Girl Talk Institute prepares Ambassadors for our programs, by deepening their personal development, leadership skills, and authentic community. The program highlights experts in the mental health field, provides evidence-based leadership training within the framework of human dignity, and teaches the tools needed to discover and inspire true confidence. The Institute combines the power of content and community, offering small group sisterhood for women to thrive together.

How Does It Work?

Girl Talk Institute Ambassadors will receive access to the online platform containing program materials (videos, reflections, and resources) and community discussion. Ambassadors will learn through self-paced online modules and by engaging in community posts, questions and reflections. Ambassadors will also complete a series of virtual workshops via Zoom to learn, discuss and practice training materials. Ambassadors will receive a leadership certificate upon completion and move forward in leading a Mom Talk community pod in early 2024.

What does it include?

  • Videos - Learn through 10 video modules containing curated content from Girl Talk Founder, Julie Larkin, and experts in the fields of leadership, mental health, and personal development. Speakers will explore topics including self-worth, core beliefs, emotional regulation, group facilitation, and effective communication.

  • Workshops - Work directly with our mental health experts and leaders to learn from real experience and evidence-based tools. Participate in small groups to discuss the videos, practice the training materials, and receive support from women just like you!

  • Resources - Learn practical tools and tips to improve your personal development through videos, podcasts, articles, and book exerts, and confidently lead your peers.

  • Community Network - Access to the Ambassador community on a private online platform - connect with other women taking the course, share your personal growth, and hone your skills with the whole community!

All accepted applicants will be given more information to begin the program.

All course content is geared towards personal development and leadership skills grounded in the Girl Talk mission. Topics include self-worth, empathy, emotional health, accompaniment, hospitality, group facilitation, effective communication, and more!

How do Ambassadors support Mom Talk?

After Girl Talk Institute certification, Ambassadors will be well equipped for leading a pod in our Girl Talk programs. Each pod has 6-8 women who regularly meet for an hour during the program to discuss the content, share stories, and provide support to one another in cultivating self-awareness and true confidence! Ambassadors will select the pod meeting time based on their availability, host the virtual or in-person pod, and lead the conversation. Ambassadors are integral in building our sisterhood of self-worth!
